It was bright and early at the Huntsman at 7 am for a blood draw. We were hoping that after three straight days of a drug given to release his stem cells from the bone marrow that the count in his blood would be high enough. If the numbers are right we would begin collection today but if not, we'll be back tomorrow to try again. While we waited there was physical exam and lots of questions from the Physician's Assistant.
Kassie was there to hang out for a little while before catching her flight back to Milwaukee. Jay looks pretty relaxed there. So we waited and waited until about 9:30 am when then nurse told us it would be another 30 minutes for the results to get back. Ahhhhh....

Yeah! Finally the nurse came back with the news. "You are on the bubble, almost there but not quite. We'll need to check with Dr. T to see if he wants to start today or wait until tomorrow". So more waiting. Ahhhhh......
I could drag this post out so you'd get a feeling for how the day went but I like you all too much. It was really only 1/2 hour before the head nurse came back with the official word.
"We're booting you out of here."
Dr. T wanted give him one more dose of a different drug tonight to try and get a better collection tomorrow.
So now you know the answer.
He Goes!
But, we are back at the Huntsman tonight at 9 pm for another shot then bright and early at 7 am tomorrow when they are telling us that collection is sure to begin.
Step by step we'll get there,
